Interiors

We help our clients design and build their own individual spaces.

From high street shops to stately homes, bars to garden studios, we can help our clients design and build their own individual spaces.

With modern heating systems and efficient insulation along with the shift in how we choose to use our houses, we have reached a point where many people are embracing remodelling the internal layout of their homes.  Formal dining rooms are disappearing , often making room for more popular kitchen family rooms and open plan living

With space now at a premium, we have plenty of experience in opening up clients dwellings, to create light and airy social spaces, incorporating garden areas to maximise inside, outside living.

Adding steels, reclaimed joists, green oak and glulam beams we have worked with it all. Modern contemporary to reclaimed and rustic, we can work to curves, sharp corners and  straight lines or the organic nature of the dwelling. Material choices and the way in which they are employed sit at the heart of our approach.

Family Room Extension - Penponds

With the initial structure built, and suspended floor in place, the Kawa team were brought in to design and build the interior of the sunroom extension.

Once internal stud work and plaster boarding had been completed the original french doors and existing window were removed.  This opened up the existing kitchen into the new extension.  An integrated wood burner was installed to provide year round living and a natural break between the new dining and family room

After completing internal works a large hardwood deck was built and the garden landscaped to compliment the new family room.

The Old Drill Hall, Marazion

An old empty drill hall, the design brief was to create, on a budget, six artist studio’s a mezzanine for art classes and leave enough floor space to house a second hand furniture shop.

The old stone walls were revealed and pointed, as they were damp from previously being clad. Soundproof internal partition walls were built, clad in plasterboard and covered with MDF strips to eliminate the need for and wet trades. The Kawa team were instructed to keep the space aesthetically interesting using reclaimed materials, left from previous artists, where possible.

Barn Interior fit out - Nancledra

The team were called in by the client to inject some character back into a partially renovated barn.    Reclaimed timbers were used to represent joists, build window seats and decorate the previous sterile interior.  The floors were lifted and levelled before the clients sourced oak flooring was laid and kitchen fitted.

Pentewan Sands Holiday Park - St Austell

Working alongside RRW Shop fitters, we built a bespoke back bar and large curved front one, which we clad in oak. Ornate sculpted shelves were made from birch ply and mounted on backlit perspex.

The Old Drill Hall - Marazion

Mark was a great asset to the Old Drill Hall renovations. He has a wealth of knowledge on working with old and sometimes tricky buildings. He’s lovely to have around. Vanessa Robson
